Letter from HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco

I am very pleased that the Monegasque Association for research on Alzheimer’s disease, AMPA, benefits from renewed momentum thanks to Catherine Pastor and Professor Alain Pesce.
The rising incidence of this pathology, one of the drawbacks of the longer human lifespan, calls for the development of research in the field. The Monegasque Association for research on Alzheimer’s disease has set the objective, in particular, of bringing together international researchers for top-level meetings. I can only encourage its members in this enterprise. Alzheimer’s disease is a very painful ordeal for patients confronted with their gradual loss of orientation and autonomy. It is also heartbreaking for the families and friends of those stricken with this scourge. I would like to congratulate the members of the Association who are launching into this generous combat. I formulate the wish that the meetings organized to fight this disease may help achieve further progress and that, by making the illness regress, they can restore a taste for life in patients struck by this pathology and their loved ones. |
